Take an exclusive and specially designed tour behind the scenes at the manufacturing plant of the world’s leading aircraft manufacturer, at the European PLM Summit 2008.
Learn and experience first hand how the latest product design, development and production technologies combine to help maximise efficiency and output of the new Airbus A380.
Places are strictly limited, and will require prior security clearance to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
The Experience
The site tour will be specially created by Airbus for the PLM Summit, and will be far more extensive and production orientated than the general public tours that are available. Final details will be confirmed once the specific industry split of the delegate audience is clear.
The boarding room
Delegates will hear a presentation of the full A380 programme, to set the day’s experience in context and gain a deeper insight into some of the key factors considered during the development of new aircraft.
The Jean Luc Lagardère site
A bus will take delegates on a tour of the outside of the main building, to give a true understanding the scale of the operation and gain a real appreciation of the site layout and design. This will also include a drive around the runways and the exterior of the key assembly points.
Testing
The testing programme for the A380 is a very rigorous process, which is carried out in the hall and of course outside. All attendees will get a real-time view of some of the key dynamics and see how every new carrier is put through its paces.
The Jean Luc Lagardère hall.
From a viewing platform carefully positioned to give complete visibility over the entire production process, delegates will see how the new A380 comes together, the importance of ‘joined-up design’ in manufacturing excellence and how the assembly line is optimised to maximise carrier output. |
